The Uniform Law Commission’s efforts to help end human trafficking take a major step forward in 2014 as state enactment efforts begin throughout the country. The Uniform Act focuses upon comprehensive criminal sanctions on traffickers—and upon those who use victims’ labor and services. In addition, the Uniform Act offers victims the protections and remedies needed to help rebuild their lives and encourages states to engage in public awareness and planning efforts.
